Plateau Basket

In the Pemba and Monze districts of Zambia's Southern Plateau, skilled Batonga women craft iconic baskets from locally harvested palm leaves and wild twigs. The weavers artfully elevate single-use plastic bags that would otherwise be discarded to add assorted graphic motifs to their baskets.Because this is a handcrafted item, each will vary slightly.
